Discover Scuba Dive - PADI

The PADI Discover Scuba Dive is for those who have always wondered what it is like Scuba dive but aren't quite ready yet to take the certification course. This introduction to the sport is geared up to be a quick, easy and enjoyable way to see if Scuba Diving is for you!

Our Discover Scuba Dive begins with a short informative talk with one of our experienced PADI dive instructors who will explain the basics - your gear, safety rules, a description of the dive site and tell you all about the fun you are going to have! Once your briefing is finished you will gear up and jump in the shallow water off the end of our dock. The water here is typically calm and clear - a perfect setting to learn some skills underwater prior to heading off on your dive.

The dive site here is called The Wreck of the Cali which was originally a four masted schooner that had been converted to a cargo ship in the early 1900's. In the 1940's she sunk and was scuttled in the George Town Harbour and now lays in approximately 30 ft of water. The makes for an ideal site for first time divers as the wreck is home to plenty of tropical fish and a resident school of Tarpon.

This course is available to those students who are a minimum of 10 years old, medically fit to dive and be comfortable in the water. Please review the PADI Medical Questionnaire prior to enrolling in any PADI training course. If you answer "YES" to any of the medical issues it does not necessarily disqualify you from Scuba Diving - it just means your pre-existing condition could possibly affect your safety wile diving and you must seek your Physician's approval to dive.

Please note that this is not a Scuba certification however it does qualify you to participate in other shallow dives with an instructor up to a maximum of 40 ft. Boat dives offered for "Repeat Novice" divers include shallow reefs off 7 Mile Beach, Stingray City, and The ex-USS Kittiwake.

We offer this course daily in both the morning and afternoon. Groups are kept to PADI standards of 4 students or less per Instructor. Certified divers are welcome to join friends or family on this beginner dive.
