Refresher Course - PADI ReActivate Scuba Refresher

Has it been a while since you were last in the water?

Has it been a while since you were last in the water? Are your SCUBA skills a little out of practice? Are you newly certified and would like to be supervised by a PADI professional for your first open water dive? Perhaps a refresher is needed prior to going out on our boat to make you a more confident and safe diver.

We have a couple of options for a refresher based on factors such as the date of your last open water dive, prior dive experience and your highest certification level. Our company guidelines recommend a refresher dive if it has been 2-3 years since your last open water dive. It is a requirement to participate in a refresher if it has been 3 years or more since your last open water dive.

ReACTIVATE - Basic

Our Basic Refresher Dive starts with a briefing from your PADI Instructor on the fundamentals such as equipment set up, pre-dive buddy safety review, and dive site description. From there you will gear up and jump off the dock to complete an in-water skills review, buoyancy check and finish up with a guided 1-tank shore dive on the Wreck of the Cali.

After this dive you will have the confidence and skills to safely participate in additional deeper dives on our regularly scheduled boat trips. The price of this dive includes the instruction, tank, weight, and any gear required.

ReACTIVATE - Comprehensive

If it has been six to eight years or more since your last dive we will ask you to sign-up our Comprehensive Refresher Training. This course will get you ‘tuned-up’ and ready to dive on the boats without having to do the Open Water Diver course all over again. This Comprehensive Refresher course is split into 2 parts - the PADI on or off-line ReActivate (which can be done on your own time prior to arrival to the island) and the in-water training.

Once you have completed ReActivate Knowledge Refresher you will be ready for the in-water portion of this refresher course which starts with a briefing from your PADI Instructor on the basics such as equipment set up, pre-dive buddy safety review, and dive site description. We can also introduce you to hands on use of a dive computer if you wish. From there you will gear up and complete an in-water skills review, buoyancy check and finish up with a guided dive. After this dive you will have the confidence and skills to safely participate in additional deeper dives on our regularly scheduled boat trips.

The price of this dive includes the instruction, tank, weight, and any gear required. The in-water training can be scheduled over one day with a skills review either in the pool or in the water shallow water off of our dock followed by a 1-tank shore dive on the Wreck of the Cali or an afternoon 2-tank shallow boat dive.

This course is available to those students who have a dive certification or enrolled in a course and are a minimum of 10 years old and medically fit to dive. Please review the PADI Medical Questionnaire prior to enrolling in any PADI training course. If you answer "YES" to any of the medical issues it does not necessarily disqualify you from Scuba Diving - it just means your pre-existing condition could possibly affect your safety while diving and you must seek your Physician's approval to dive.
